My favorite stories when I was a kid were the stories of the Borrowers by Mary Norton. The Borrowers are tiny people up to 6″ tall that live secretly in our homes and borrow things they need. To this day I can’t look at a small bottle lid, thimble, Altoid can or cigar box or any other object like that and wonder how it would benefit a Borrower. PBS aired a wonderful series based on the books and I thought they did an excellent job. Everything was just as I imagined. There was also a film based on the Borrowers in 1997. I preferred the TV series.

I’m involved in another art journal exchange with 4 other artists. The journal again is the 3.5 x 5 accordian fold moleskine journal. My theme is The Borrowers. Here is my spread:
