Here is a gallery of work I’ve created in other artists moleskine journals:
the owner of the journal picks a theme and we make art in that theme – thus the variety of imagery here!

ABOUT:
We like to use the Japanese accordion style Moleskine Journals – the small ones that are 3×5 (available at Amazon). They have 30 pages (60 if you count the back, but we don’t draw on the back except maybe to sign the art). There can be any number of artists that join this exchange. Usually 6-10 people.

I decide on a theme, decorate/draw on my cover. Illustrate instructions and the mail route on the inside first page or 2 and also make some art on 3 or 4 pages in my theme. There are back pockets in these journals – some people use them to tuck business cards, instructions for the journal, a sign in sheet or many other creative ideas!
Then I mail it to another artist – and they create art on 3 or 4 pages in my theme (number of pages depends on how many artists are involved). Then they mail it to the next artist – wash, rinse, repeat. Then when the book is full it is mailed back to me – full of awesome art! Since this takes almost a year to accomplish, you are conversing regulaly with the other artists that live all over the world.
Besides meeting other artists, it also makes you “stretch” your comfort zone. If you aren’t used to drawing zombies for example and someones theme calls for zombies…better start practicing your zombies.
