Pareidolia

When you think you see a face in the clouds, Jesus on a tree or a face on Mars – that is called Pareidolia - (also when hearing recognizable words in records played backwards or in white noise). It’s a psychological phenomenon involving a “random stimulus being perceived as significant.”

When I mirror my cloud photos I see a high percentage of wings and skulls. Here is a really nice owl image that showed up in a cloud formation I shot out of my bedroom window one early evening.

And another huge cloud formation taken about a week before the owl. Awesome Texas clouds in July! This looks like a bomb explosion – Can you see the skull in the middle? I never alter the color or manipulate it other than mirroring it vertically or horizontally – this one is interesting how the pure white piece of cloud forms a “ball” sitting on top of the golden color of the rest of the cloud.
